I'm unable to sign on to a movement that operates with its primary focus, the advancing of a group of people based on skin color, be it white or black. I feel it's unfortunate that today so many people are buying into this feel-good BLM vision for America, one that coincidentally wreaks of Marxism and anti-family rhetoric, and conveniently avoids facing our most basic problem - our lack of character.
When Dr. King called us forward, he chose his words carefully. His "Dream" was for a culture that didn't see white or black in their everyday life. His "Dream" was that we'd graduate to seeing each other, each day, by the content our character NOT by something so shallow as our skin color.
Promoting individual character is hardly being racist. Strong character is the most basic foundation for a strong happy culture, one where people truly love and value each other. People who possess strong moral character certainly don't need to be told. "Don't be racist!" They'd never dream of treating a person that way! And to them, the assumption that they would is offensive.
We're being lied to so badly right now. We're sidestepping God's demand for his strong moral character to live in each one of us. This sidestep won't get us where the finger-pointers are saying it will. It'd be a shame if we allowed their divisive swap to tarnish our culture's visionary way of thinking.
"All men are created equal" The funny thing about "all" is, it means all! Where do we read that? in our Declaration of Independence. "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that *all* men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness."
May we continue to grow into the vision for America laid before us by our true sages.
