The Left just couldn’t accept the fact that a communist had killed their President.

They couldn’t come to grips with the fact that a communist had pulled the trigger. They were more aligned with communists than Republicans back then– which is the case today.

That's an interesting thought. Could be some truth to it.

The fact that he was a sitting president could also account for much of it.
