Here we go again. Cumulus is still trying to find a more moderate Republican to beat Hannity and Limbaugh. They tried it with Huckabee and that flopped. Now they are going to try it with Rep. Mike Rogers when he retires, who is already bashing Hannity and Limbaugh and their audiences:
BREITBART – The Congressman who will be Cumulus’ newest radio host promptly blasted Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity in an interview with the New York Times.
Rep. Mike Rogers (R-MI), the Chair of the House Intelligence Committee who will retire after his term ends to host a national radio show, said those who listen to Hannity and Limbaugh do not learn anything.
“I think there is room for a more productive, you-might-actually-learn-something kind of talk radio in the marketplace,” Rogers said to New York Times reporter Mark Leibovich.
Cumulus’s ratings have plummeted, and Lew Dickey, its CEO, reportedly told Rogers, “they were not looking for someone to replicate Limbaugh or Hannity” and wanted someone more moderate and not as fierce.
Enter Rogers.
“I’m a bit of a canary in a coal mine,” Rogers, whom Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-IL) described as “a voice for moderation and consensus-building,” said. “And I am hoping I don’t choke on fumes at the bottom of the shaft.”
