Can anyone tell me what is the point of supporting the GOP in any way shape or fashion? I see absolutely no difference in congress than I did over the last year. Won't do anything about Amnesty. Nothing about securing the border. Zilch on any of the abuse of powers by the WH. Nothing to bring fiscal sanity back. The only thing they give a crap about is that stupid XL pipeline that in the large scope of things is a waste of time and meaningless. Now they refuse to even bring a logical piece of Pro Life legislation to a vote. I hate the GOP as much now as I do Zero and his crew.
ZitatWASHINGTON, D.C., Jan. 22, 2015—Russell Moore, president of the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission, responded to House Republicans’ decision to drop the “Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act,” a major pro-life bill that would ban abortions after the 20th week of pregnancy.
“I am disgusted by this act of moral cowardice. If the House Republicans cannot pass something as basic as restricting the abortion of five-month, pain-capable unborn children, what can they get done?
“The Republicans in Congress should come and explain this atrocity to the hundreds of thousands of people gathering here in the nation’s capital to march for life. The congressional Republicans seem to think that pro-lifers will be satisfied with Ronald Reagan rhetoric and Nancy Pelosi results. They are quite wrong.”
House Republicans are now scheduled to vote on a bill Thursday that would prohibit federal funding for abortions. This scheduled vote coincides with the annual March for Life event, held in Washington, D.C., on or around the anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision legalizing abortion in the case Roe v. Wade.
The Southern Baptist Convention is America’s largest Protestant denomination with more than 15.8 million members in over 46,000 churches nationwide. The Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission is the SBC’s ethics, religious liberty and public policy agency with offices in Nashville, Tenn., and Washington, D.C.
"According to news reports, female GOP lawmakers raised concerns on the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, prompting party leaders to realize they did not have the votes to pass the bill.
Prominent Republican members who rallied against the plan to limit late-term abortions include Reps. Charlie Dent of Pennsylvania, Renee Ellmers of North Carolina and Jackie Walorski of Indiana."

Of those three clowns (Dent has always been Pro Death) one apparently was the spearhead behind this....
The Two Faces of Renee “Abortion” Ellmers as House Republicans Fail Pro-Lifers
House Republicans were set to re-pass the 2013 Pain-Capable Unborn Children Protection Act today. The legislation would prohibit 99% of abortions after 20 weeks, the point at which there is no doubt children can feel pain.
The measure is identical to the legislation passed in 2013. But this time, with a chance of passing both the House and Senate, Congresswoman Rep. Renee Ellmers (R-NC)51% worked tireless to scuttle the legislation then had the temerity to claim she actually would vote for if only it would come to the floor.
Ellmers, according to multiple sources, persuaded a number of women in the House Republican Conference to walk away from the bill to ensure it could not pass. Then she declared she’d vote for it once she was sure it could not pass.
It was a two-faced ploy that worked.
Today, hundreds of thousands of Americans will march in support of life in Washington. But the Republicans will not re-pass their 2013 legislation because of Rep. Renee Ellmers (R-NC)51%. Instead, they’ll try to pass legislation prohibiting taxpayer funding of abortion. That amounts to throwing pro-lifers a few table scraps.
The legislation, which even Renee Ellmers voted for in 2013, did not subject the GOP to attacks in 2014. In fact, it put several Democrats on defense.
Hopefully, between this and her immigration betrayal, someone in Rep. Renee Ellmers (R-NC)51%‘ district will begin a campaign to unseat her. In fact, last night Planned Parenthood was praising Ellmers.
By the way, you can call Rep. Ellmers at (202) 225-4531, though her staff has been hanging up on pro-lifers who call. You might also want to send her this addressed to Rep. Renee Ellmers, 406 West Broad Street, Dunn, NC 28334.
