If curious, here's my writing from yesterday....
I doubt most Americans realize how fully they're being "controlled by the gatekeepers of political correctness". Political correctness is an ideology that identifies and reinforces those who conform to what it has determined to be superior behavior and it punishes nonconformists with visceral attacks. Nonconformists are quickly bullied, mocked and shunned and this treatment is seen as what they deserve. They are labeled as very bad people, not just people of different political persuasion. The politically correct template provides the movement with a “righteous” standard for judging others and results in a seriously divided America. Anyone who opposes the politically correct movement is put in the wrong basket.
It’s hard to deny that the politically correct see themselves as society’s most virtuous people. They act as if they were society’s gatekeepers, tasking themselves with shaming those who disagree with their pc ideas. They circulate among us with accolades for those with whom they agree, and most importantly, acting as righteous tyrants by heaping shame on those who dare to disagree.
The thuggish role of the “PC gatekeeper” must be understood and recognized as wrong, but it isn’t. Most often the threatening, ruthless behavior is absolved of any guilt because the politically correct “gatekeeper” is seen as one of the good guys whose behavior is seen as serving the greater good. So, morally wrong actions such as lying, cheating, slandering, name calling, yellow journalism and ad hominem become morally good tools when used in pursuit of their desired outcome.
When one disagrees with the politically correct, it is quickly learned that it’s in your best interest to keep your disparate opinions to yourself. The mob mentality of in a politically correct environment simply can’t stand dialogue and wants to quickly stifle dissent [make a safe space]. The crowd especially enjoys it when one of their gatekeepers drops an ad hominem attack. It’s sad that so often the politically correct movement “prevails” by bullying others until they are intimidated and submit. Counting the cost often makes speaking up not worth it. As an ideology, political correctness isn’t serving our Country well, not in a society where freedom of expression was once considered to be a hallmark of our democratic society.
"The demographic most opposed to President Trump is not a racial minority, but a cultural elite." Daniel Greenberg
"Failure to adequately denounce Islamic extremism, not only denies the existence of an absolute moral wrong but inherently diminishes our chances of defeating it." Tulsi Gabbard
"It’s a movement comprised of Americans from all races, religions, backgrounds and beliefs, who want and expect our government to serve the people, and serve the people it will." Donald Trump's Victory Speech 11/9/16
