Why do they feel the need to cover for Islam and teach us about what "true" Islam is all about?

Dean's comments represent a denial of reality which reflects a form of psychosis which has permeated Liberalism since at least the Spanish Civil War of the 30s. It afflicts particularly our "intellectual" class and, unless reversed, will someday be the death of us all.
yeah babe, isn't that crazy how we do focus on Islam....
I wonder if that might have something to do with the fact they just killed 10 journalists and are terrorizing the world, stifling freedom of speech with their AK 47s.

Any Ron Paul fans here? Paul said the context for the attack was France’s involvement in the Middle East.
“But in the context of things, France has been a target for many, many years, because they’ve been involved in foreign affairs in Libya, and they really prodded us along in — recently in Libya, but they’ve been involved in Algeria, so they’ve had attacks like this, you know, not infrequently. So, it does involve, you know, their foreign policy as well. When people do this, you know, the rejection of the violence has to be made, and with that I agree.”
“I put blame on bad policy that we don’t fully understand, and we don’t understand what they’re doing because the people who are objecting to the foreign policy that we pursue, they do it from a different perspective,” Paul added. “They see us as attacking them, and killing innocent people, so yes, they, they have — this doesn’t justify, so don’t put those words in my mouth — it doesn’t justify, but it explains it.”
But Ron, these Muslim extremists assaulted and killed civilians: reporters and cartoonists! And they attacked them at their place of work, a newspaper office! NOT a government building. How wrapped up in your own ideology can you get Bozo!
Duh!!!

TM, that attempt at some kind of equivalency between the mass shooting today and Jerry Falwell's suit against Larry Flynt is absolutely. undeniably, and unquestioningly insane.
Asking Howie about world events is as useful as asking the Pope what he thinks about Ron Jeremy's latest porn. It may be amusing, but totally uninformative.

The Pope is probably better informed on ANY issue than Howie is on world events. And I'm no fan of Pope Frankie.
ZitatWhy do they feel the need to cover for Islam and teach us about what "true" Islam is all about?
I used to believe that it was due to the same weakness that has always affected the views of the Left - cowardice.
Now I'm thinking that there is other motivation than just hoping that they will be the last to be beheaded.
I suspect that their wallets are being fattened with jihadi blood money to sway opinion in the U.S..
What politician, especially a leftist politician, does something for nothing...
Whenever you see/hear a apologist politician speaking in favor of Islam, you've seen a traitor.
I agree.
And if things get out of hand and there is real danger of these apologists loosing their heads, they will not hesitate to go Tiananmen Square or Charles Martell on the Jihadis.

TM, Fan of Ron here.
Ron isn't justifying assaulting civilians, reporters children or cartoonists. Such violence is standard Jihadi behavior. Being kafir or non-Moslem makes one a legiitmate target of the Jihadis. "....this doesn’t justify, so don’t put those words in my mouth — it doesn’t justify, but it explains it"
What Paul is emphasizing is akin to my conclusion that the kindest things we can say about US foreign policy in the middle east is that we have no clue what we are doing and are unable to learn from experience.
We are dealing with the legacy of the Nazis and Soviets in the early 1900's who sent in agents and $$$ to resurrect violent Jihad as a tool to bring down western civilization. The Nazis and Soviets had a good tool to work with - Islam as Mohammed practiced it.
Nixon's institution of the Petro dollar explains why we protect the Saudis; it was done in exchange for the Saudis saving the dollar from collapse back in Nixon's day after he closed the international gold window for the US dollar. The Saudis agreed to price oil in US dollars and buy US treasuries with their oil profits. This strengthened demand for the dollar and enabled the expansion of big central government in the US.
As of late, under the UN's RP2 (responsibility to protect) the US has been indulging in nation building and leadership change. We pick and choose leaders to the iUN's liking and fund and arm Jihadis to bring down leaders not to the UNs liking.
Our leadersip has no problem throwing those who ally with us in the Middle East to the wolves, just like they have no porblme throwing our military to the woves under impossible PC ROE.
Don't forget people in the middle east carry grudges for genertions
IMHO we ought to have gone Charles Martell on the Jihadis. Those who were left could go back to their long time tradition of infighting .
