I may be the only one here who wasn't quite sure what "Gamergate" was all about. It really is interesting. I have no idea how unbiased this particular story is.
"One night in October, before the media critic Anita Sarkeesian was scheduled to give a speech at Utah State University, someone e-mailed the school, threatening to commit mass murder. “This will be the deadliest school shooting in American history, and I’m giving you a chance to stop it,” the message read. “I have at my disposal a semiautomatic rifle, multiple pistols, and a collection of pipe bombs,” it went on. “I will write my manifesto in her spilled blood, and you will all bear witness to what feminist lies and poison have done to the men of America.” The message mentioned Marc Lépine, a man who shot and killed 14 women at an engineering college in Montreal in 1989 before killing himself. "
I have no experience with this whole genre of video games. I can't tell you one thing about games or gamers other than it wastes a lot of people's time. The violence and the treatment of women may really be affecting those who indulge in endless hours of this kind of entertainment. The gamers don't start out with much on the ball if you ask me and this fantasy world for some may be impossible to isolate from reality. That's my 2 cents.

I hope this woman gets hit by a bus along with all the other freedom haters out there. There is no correlation between video games, movies or guns and violence. Violence has been taking place since the beginning of time and it doesn't matter what tech advancements there are.
