Count House Speaker John Boehner as a fan of Jeb Bush for president. He also hasn't spoken to Texas GOP Sen. Ted Cruz in two years.
The driving issue of the 2016 election will be “competence,” and if former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush runs, “he’s got a real shot” at winning, the Ohio Republican told the Cincinnati Enquirer on Tuesday.
Boehner applauded Bush’s ability to “talk about Republican issues better than most anybody that we’ve got out there,” approving of his “real record of reform” as Florida’s governor from 1999 to 2007.
He also called potential candidates Ohio Gov. John Kasich and Ohio Sen. Rob Portman “great” ones.
"We've got a lot of good candidates," Boehner said. "We'll see who decides to throw their hat in the ring." Sign Up for the Politics Today newsletter!
Perhaps the most surprising nugget from the interview was Boehner admitting that he has not spoken to Texas Sen. Ted Cruz since he was elected in 2012 — probably due to Cruz’s encouragement of House conservatives to go against many of Boehner's proposals.
Polling shows the Jeb doesn't have a shot in hell. The Bush name in this country is total and absolute shit. This just shows how out of touch this drunk DC whore is. Boner has no idea what is going on a whole host of issues.

There is the same reaction. Who really is talking up Clintoon other than DLC retreads and drones? there is no one out in the country excited to vote for this toad either.

Agreed Frank that is why I found it fitting to place under Liberal Folly--Johnny Boy is a joke

There is at least a century of history to show it. First off, the Rats do not do "owed" retread candidates. The only time they win is with new fresh faces no one ever heard of. Carter was an unknown Gov. Clinton was some unknown Gov. Zero was some unknown Senator. Secondly, can you tell me a time when a sitting VP of any party didn't get the nomination of their party if they ran? Never and if you don't think Biden is running, just look at where he is giving speeches and raising money.
