This one peaked my curiosity so I looked it up. Turns out Harry Truman did say that....
"Paul Hume, The Washington Post's music critic, wrote a gently damning review of the singing of Margaret Truman, the president's daughter, at a 1950 Washington recital. Miss Truman is a unique American phenomenon with a pleasant voice of little size and fair quality," Hume wrote of the performance. "She is extremely attractive on stage, yet Miss Truman cannot sing very well. She is flat a good deal of the time. . ."
Truman was livid and fired off a letter, branding Hume "an eight ulcer man on four ulcer pay".
Then he added: "Some day I hope to meet you. When that happens, you'll need a new nose, a lot of beefsteak for black eyes, and perhaps a supporter below!"
Such frank talk earned Harry Truman the reputation for being "Give 'em Hell Harry!"
His response was: “I never did give them hell. I just told the truth, and they thought it was hell.” Harry Truman
Sounds a bit like our current President.
thanks Pookie, off to work!

"Failure to adequately denounce Islamic extremism, not only denies the existence of an absolute moral wrong but inherently diminishes our chances of defeating it." Tulsi Gabbard
"It’s a movement comprised of Americans from all races, religions, backgrounds and beliefs, who want and expect our government to serve the people, and serve the people it will." Donald Trump's Victory Speech 11/9/16

He's a rare democrat - I might have been able to vote for him had I been alive then.
I read a biography on him once - he was an interesting character. He would never have passed scrutiny if he were running today (he said and did many 'racist' things in his early career; was a product of the corrupt Kansas City Pendergrast machine; etc.)
Yet his 'racism' was likely consistent with most democrats of his time; and he did oversee the integration of the armed forces during his presidency. I doubt he was any more or less 'racist' as most people were then.
The most controversial thing he did during his WH tenure was the firing of Gen. MacArthur.
I actually think it was the right thing to do. Given our civilian control of the military (and Trump as president was Commander In Chief), he had no choice. MacArthur was insubordinate
