Gore: Climate Change Deniers Should Pay a Political Price Former vice president Al Gore, speaking at the Social Good Summit in New York City on Monday, demanded that those who deny climate change be made to pay “a political price.” Gore stated,
Within the market system we have to put a price on carbon, and within the political system, we have to put a price on denial. It is simply not acceptable for major companies to mimic the unethical strategy of the tobacco companies in presenting blatantly false information in order to protect a business model. There needs to be a political price for denial.
Unsatisfied with last week’s Environmental Protection Agency’s draft rule which set harsher emissions limits for new power plants, although he allowed it was an “important step forward,” Gore wants to truly target carbon emissions with a “revenue neutral” carbon tax.
Gore isn’t satisfied with the current disagreements over climate change; he wants to silence opposition by encouraging families and communities to challenge climate change deniers wherever they are. He said, “We can win this conversation and winning a conversation can make all the difference. Don’t let denial go unchallenged.” . . . ."

These are new weather and climate conditions.” "
Rather than present conclusive evidence that proves a man-made cause for global warming this empty suit guy tells people to depend on their emotions and to increase their rhetorical volume. And why do this? Based on what evidence?
"...it has never been like this before"
well, there you have it. case closed. not!

This substitution of emotion for facts, analysis, and reasoning is so typical of various proponents of big central government statists / socialists / marxists / fascists / globalists and Islamists. In their world 'free speech' only extends to toting the party line.
Interesting how this empty suit's fear based rhetoric has amassed him billions.

Off the topic. Welcome back TM. How was Italy ?
Any "model", be it evolution or climate model, only has value if it is able to accurately predict what's ahead. When a model's predictions come true, then we're dealing with a model that has credence and should be looked at more seriously. But the climate data seems to be showing that the models are wrong. So far they have greatly exaggerated the urgency of this warming threat in general and grossly failed to link man as the cause for any trend experienced.
This data's failure to validate the anthropomorphic model and even worse, the basic directional change of the climate model, means we're dealing with a canard.
So far .....man can't be held responsible for the changes in the climate and we're not even certain that there isn't a cooling trend up ahead. It's junk science.
Side note reply: Hi there algernon, Italy where we went is just beautiful. Thanks for asking. I'm not a city person, politically or socially. I like to get away from it all for a vacation.: no fighting traffic or fighting crowds for position in a line. So we went to the so called Italian Riviera, north of Cinque Terre, on the western side of Italy and stayed in Deiva Marina see [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deiva_Marina] a slow paced coastal town on the Mediterranean Sea. We swam every day and enjoyed the lovely waves and the beach life. Sun block allows this fair skinned English/Irish guy to not worry about sun burning anymore, so life was good there.
