The man suffered second degree burns to his lower arms, according to authorities.
Police arrived on scene and began putting out the fire with dry extinguishers before the fire department arrived, and was put out within minutes, the report said.
The victim was taken to Jersey City Medical Center-Barnabas Health, where he was treated and released Thursday night, Jersey City spokeswoman Jennifer Morrill said."
