A man was injured after he reportedly tried to set himself on fire in a protest outside the Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C. Tuesday night.
The D.C. Fire Department said it received a call at 9:23 p.m. about someone setting himself on fire.
According to local TV news station WJLA, the man attempted to start the small blaze outside the Trump hotel and was burned badly in the process and taken to a hospital for treatment.
“I was trying to set myself on fire as an act of protest,” the man told NBC Washington. “Protesting the fact that we’ve elected somebody incapable of respecting the Constitution of the United States.”
