Wednesday, 01 January 2020 Joe Biden Has Some Advice for Coal Miners: Learn to Program Written by Luis Miguel
Democratic 2020 frontrunner Joe Biden said miners need to find “jobs of the future” as he discussed transitioning the economy away from fossil fuels during a campaign event.
“Anybody who can go down 300 to 3,000 feet in a mine can sure as hell learn to program as well,” Biden told a New Hampshire audience. “Anybody who can throw coal into a furnace can learn how to program, for god's sake!”
On Sunday, Biden also said his plans for cleaning up the environment include throwing executives of fossil-fuel companies in prison.
“Put them in jail,” he said. “I'm not joking about this.”

Biden’s remarks came after the he stated there would not be a single new coal plant made in America last month.
During the December Democratic debate, the former vice president said he was willing to cut hundreds of thousands of oil and natural gas jobs.
Asked by the debate moderator if he would sacrifice the jobs of American fossil fuel workers in order to establish a green economy, Biden responded:
The answer is yes. We should, in fact, be making sure right now that every new building built is energy contained, that it doesn’t leak energy, that in fact we should be providing tax credits for people to be able to make their homes turn to solar power. They’re all kinds of folks — right here in California, we're now on the verge of having batteries that are about the size of the top of this podium that you can store energy when in fact the wind isn’t blowing and the sun isn’t shining. We have enormous opportunities.
Biden has formerly said he supports a complete ban on many fossil fuels. In September, for example, he said, “We’ve got to shut down” all coal-fueled power plants.
His comments echo those of Hillary Clinton, who during the 2016 election vowed “We're going to put a lot of coal miners and coal companies out of business”—a remark she later said was her biggest mistake on the campaign trail.
Chris Hamilton, co-chair of the Wesrt Virginia Coal Forum, struck back at Biden on Fox & Friends.
“It's just inconceivable how someone, particularly in his position could advocate putting tens of thousands of working Americans out of work. But it comes as no surprise. Former Vice President Biden has repeatedly demonstrated his disdain for mining and for our coal miners,” Hamilton reacted.
“We shouldn’t build another new highway in America that doesn’t have charging stations on it,” Biden has said of his plans for a green America. “We have an opportunity to put 550,000 charging stations so that we own the electrical vehicle market, creating millions of jobs for people installing them, as well making sure that we own electric vehicle market.”
Hamilton asserted that Biden’s consistently expressed willingness to eliminate traditional energy jobs will not help him win back much-needed blue collar support in West Virginia, where President Trump defeated Clinton by more than 40 points in 2016.
“Listen, these coal miners absolutely love what they do and they recognize the importance and value. It's a very honorable profession,” said Hamilton. “Our miners are very highly skilled at what they do. They do it with great pride and sophistication and they're technologically advanced so, Vice President Biden is correct in that regard.”
The push to replace fossil fuels with “green” alternatives is largely driven by climate change hysteria. Proponents of these policies claim that human pollution is causing major shifts in earth’s climate that will bring catastrophic consequences for civilization unless governments enact strict controls over society.
These controls are not limited to energy, but encompass nearly every aspect of life, from education to migration. Indeed, comprehensive climate programs like the Green New Deal declare that establishing social justice and mending perceived racial disparities are among their goals.
The Sierra Club, the prominent left-wing environmental group, states that the Green New Deal would achieve “greater racial and economic equity.”
“The disproportionate benefits of a Green New Deal would go to the working-class families and communities of color that have endured disproportionate economic and environmental hazards for decades. A Green New Deal must counteract systemic racism and economic exploitation,” the Sierra Club writes.
Ultimately, the “green” movement isn’t about the environment, but about spreading climate alarmism that can then be used to justify the rest of the Left’s big government agenda.
Sleepy Joe managed to insult both blue collar and white collar workers in on one sentence. I guess in his world we are all just cogs that can be moved about at random.
Plus ... if they learn to program, the coal miners can stand on a different unemployment line - one filled with those replaced by illegals and guest workers.
