Rush is usually right, but I think he might be somewhat missing it on this one.
The GOPe isn't living in a dreamworld - they are part of the big government utopia of the progressives, but just don't want us to know about it. They claim bipartisan because they are really not that much different -- its why they won't fight -- but they need to hide the facts and have been getting away with it for years suckering us conservatives into voting for the 'lesser' of two evils, etc.
IMO Rush needs to wake-up here and acknowledge that the GOPe is just another arm of the DNC. They've opened pandora's box with their war on the Tea Party and we are no longer fooled.
At least I'm not. As far as the GOP goes, the bloom is off the rose.

Yes, you only have to look at the lack of action on fiscal restraint and the push from the GOP to legitimize open borders to see that.
Plus look at the response to 9-11. Instead of securing our borders and giving immigration the tools need for timely accurate assessment, the GOP has supported an ever encroaching police surveillance state 'to keep us safe from terrorism'.
Ever wonder how GW got out that EO creating DHS and whipped out the Patriot Act so rapidly ? It's as though they were ready and waiting for the right crisis.
