Cursive handwriting may become obsolete as more states adopt the Common Core education standards, but now some states that don’t want to see cursive handwriting become a lost art are fighting back, UPI reported on Nov. 14.

Common Core eliminated cursive handwriting for several reasons, including what the standards say is a need for students to master computer keyboarding because of today’s heavy reliance on computers and mobile devices.
