BREAKING!! KIM JONG UN CAVES TO TRUMP!! May. 24, 2018 7:33 pm by SooperMexican
Well, it happened, it only took a few hours for North Korea to freak out that Trump had called their bluff, and they’re begging to come back to the table.
BREAKING: North Korea says it is still willing to sit down for talks with the US 'at any time'. — The Associated Press (@AP) May 24, 2018
This is an unmitigated win for Trump. Now when he goes to the meeting, he’ll have the upper hand, and will be able to negotiate from a position of strength. That’s the way it is.
I thought they might cave after reading this reaction to Trump’s announcement:
.@willripleyCNN on phone from north korea now. says he was the first person to read to the north korean officials he was with trump's letter. they had all just been together seeing a nuclear site dismantled.
he said they were in shocked, got up, left and are all on the phone. — kelly cohen (@politiCOHEN_) May 24, 2018
They were bluffing. They were bluffing the whole time. And Trump called them on it.
Here’s more:
News Alert: North Korea says @POTUS' decision to scrap the summit is not in line with the world's wishes and it is willing to resolve issues with the U.S., according to North Korean state-run media. #SpecialReport pic.twitter.com/eSFCIjH2sE — Fox News (@FoxNews) May 24, 2018
Zitat Vice Foreign Minister Kim Kye-gwan issued a statement carried by the North’s state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA). It came hours after Trump announced the surprise decision to withdraw from his summit with Kim Jong-un set for June 12.
“We express our willingness to sit down face-to-face with the U.S. and resolve issues anytime and in any format,” he said in the statement.
Kim said the U.S.’ decision to cancel the upcoming talks demonstrates how serious the animosity between the North and the U.S. remains, which he said underlines the urgent need of a summit between the leaders of the two countries.
He said that the North Korean leader has made all-out efforts to prepare for the summit with the U.S., saying his meeting with Trump will serve as a good start.
“Despite all of this, the U.S.’ unilateral decision to scrap the talks causes us to reconsider whether all of the efforts and the path we have taken is really the right one or not,” he said.
Kim said that the North remains open to talks with the U.S.
“Our commitment to doing our best for the sake of peace and stability for the world and the Korean Peninsula remains unchanged, and we are open-minded in giving time and opportunity to the U.S.,” he said.
From my perspective the root fault of progressives if their failure to recognize human nature and the necessity to stand up to its darker side. Quite often people, and that includes heads of state and governments, will push things as far as they are allowed i.e. until they are given boundaries.
It seems Kim Jong Un has figured out that, unlike his predecessors, Trump does not respond to threats with more 'humanitarian aid' or pallets of cash.
