In spite of President Obama's bravado in the wake of the mid-term catastrophe that befell Democrats in every geography and at every level, huge cracks have developed in the ranks.
To prevent the story line of "Obama Rejected at the Polls" from taking root, the President held a news conference the day after the election, then took off on a multi-nation Asian tour, then made good on his delayed threat to use "the executive order pen" to change immigration law.
In the run up to the election the White House was reading the same polling numbers as everyone else. Like a good chess player, they looked several moves ahead and postponed the immigration action so the GOP wouldn't be able to say that the election was a referendum on dealing with illegal immigrants.
Truth to tell, it's working. The national GOP did not have a plan in place - or if they did they didn't execute on a plan - to follow up on their pre-election strategy: Make it all about Obama.
oming in to save the day for Republicans was, of all people, U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY).
Last week Schumer announced that the election results could be traced back to … Obamacare.
He didn't say Republicans came out in great numbers because of their anger over Obamacare. Schumer's point was that Democrats stayed home because Obama used every nickel of political capital he and the Democrats who controlled both chambers of Congress had available passing a bill that did nothing to help the middle class.
As reported by Forbes, Schumer said:
"When Democrats focused on health care, the average middle-class person thought, 'The Democrats aren't paying enough attention to me."
Schumer went on to say that huge percentages of the middle class already had health insurance and,
"It has been reported that only a third of the uninsured are even registered to vote…it made no political sense."
Schumer is not a back bencher struggling to get on MSNBC. He is known to have a strong affinity for everything from TV cameras, to radio microphones, to reporters' number 2 pencils. He is a senior member of the Democratic leadership in the U.S. Senate.

Really? I don;t see it. Zero is hated even more than before the elections. Just look at all the grumbling the illegals are doing because amnesty wasn't far enough. Also that Oriental trip was a disaster.
But yet they re-elected Pelosi and Reid? without any dissention?
I mean imagine if the R's had been the ones suffering that defeat at the polls, pushing them to the smallest percent representation since 1929?
The R's would not have re-elected their leaders. But the D's stick together. Amazing.

I thought the same thing, at first. Why are the dems re-electing the people who led them to this debacle (from their vantage point)
Then - I think I came up with an answer.
First off - the dems NEVER admit failure. And firing Stretch and Dingy would be admitting failure on a colossal scale. So - for that reason alone - they ainta gonna do it.
The second reason is the dem party - like its evil master Zero - is not only going to NOT acknowledge that the last election had any meaning as to how the country should be run, it's going to DOUBLE DOWN on its failed policies that brought us to this point.
We all know that - to the dems - the only elections that matter are those elections in which dem (read statist/communist/socialist) policy is advanced. When elections happen that DON"T advance statism, then those elections are basically ignored. The dems will go to the media. The dems will go to the courts. The dems will use executive orders.
Dems will not take "no" for an answer.
So while "we the people" THOUGHT we made a clear statement on Nov. 4th, dems are showing us otherwise. Pelosi's and Reid's continuing in their roles is the dems basically giving us the finger.
You're right Rufus, the Dems refuse to give "us' the satisfaction of winning. They never lose an argument or never admit defeat. They just double-down as you said and forge on ahead.
The future may be bleak but it's their future so we should let them own it, fair and square. Hopefully the American people will continue sticking their noses in their damn stinkin poop!

Yeah, but look at who "they" are. All that's left of the Rat party is the hardest of the hardcore Leftist from Soviet like blue cities. Basically the mental patients are running the asylum because there isn't anyone left.

After forcing Hagel to resign, Obama is getting turned down left and right for his replacement.
The Good Ship Obama has a serious hole in its hull, it has been taking on serious water, the Rats know it and are clearly jumping ship.
When Chuckie Schumer bad mouths you and your hallmark accomplishment, things are looking grim.
