Leah Remini has left the so-called “church” of Scientology. She sent out a brief statement last night thanking fans and friends for their support. But what hasn’t been addressed is what happens to her husband, mother, sisters, and stepfather. They are all in the cult, too. And one of the main things about Scientology is called “disconnection.” When someone leaves the group, they are cut off from any left behind who’s still inside.
There was a a TV show on recently about her leaving the cult. Her mother, husband and close family members also left so that she isn't all alone. I found the show interesting in the fact that she was born into this wacky nonsense and didn't join because she was a celeb. It also pained her close family that they were shunned Amish style for leaving and life long friends were ignoring them just for leaving. I know for a fact that even the Catholics are not that hard core.
