Ten years ago Jon Stewart nailed hard! the two hosts of Crossfire, Begalia and Tucker, for letting the American public down, doing theater instead of news. His words were as pointed and tough as any I've ever heard aimed at a news person. These two did not want to hear it or let him indict them but he persisted. "I beg of you to stop"
"Spin Alley"
Ten years ago — on this very day — a somewhat-known comedian named Jon Stewart went on Crossfire, and gave an interview so blistering and critical of the show and its hosts that it got the show cancelled. Literally. CNN’s then-president Jonathan Klein even cited Stewart’s criticism as a reason for its cancellation.
And today, exactly ten years later…the revived Crossfire was cancelled by CNN.
STEWART IS AN ILLUMINATI DEMON WHO CURSED THE SHOW WITH HIS DEMON POWERS OMG.
No, of course not. But if we had to bestow supernatural, show-cancelling powers on Jon Stewart, it would probably be Gift of Foresight. As he said on the show exactly ten years ago.
"But the thing is that this — you’re doing theater, when you should be doing debate, which would be great. It’s not honest. What you do is not honest. What you do is partisan hackery."
Friggin’ a, did anything change in the past ten years? By and large, cable news is still committing the same sins.
