Perry Echoes Obama: No Travel Restrictions from Ebola Nations

HOUSTON, Texas -- On Monday Texas Governor Rick Perry dismissed the notion that a travel ban from Ebola-afflicted nations would be an effective step to prevent a viral outbreak in the United States. Perry's comments echo those of the Obama Administration; over the past week the CDC has repeatedly refused to support banning flights from countries affected by Ebola.
During a press conference at the Texas capital building, where Perry announced the creation of a new task force to combat deadly viruses, the governor refused to accept that a travel ban would be in the best interest of the United States. Rather, he advocated for various screening methods.
Perry argued that travelers should have their temperatures taken, and advocated for "staffing quarantine stations" at points of entry.

We have to be careful with Perry. While he looks soooooo much better than many inside the Beltway, he is a consummate politician. And, the boots and hat help, but as a wise man once said: "all hat and no cattle."
