Now this is kinda interesting. The Mercatus Center at George Mason University has done an analysis of economic and personal freedom in most of the states and given each a ranking. One must say "most" because they only rank 50 of the states and, for reasons unknown, ignore the other seven.
At the top right of the first page is a further link, "list view", which shows the rankings from best (North Dakota) to worst (New York). There is also an amusing little cartoon which explains some of what made up the rankings.

It doesn't surprise me to see Oklahoma and Tennessee in the top 5 (Obama won 0 counties in Oklahoma in '08 and '12. And 5 counties in Tennessee in '08 and 4 in '12), but New Hampshire?

btw, Lyle didn't have much of a part on this one. --- sitting on his fingers even.

Going off topic (hey, I started it. I'm entitled). Lyle Lovett plays a sleazy lawyer in an unusual and gritty TV show on FX called "The Bridge". Anyone besides me watch it?
Lovett's role so far hasn't been all that big but may grow.

Thus far his role has been minimal but he plays a lawyer with some kind of murky connection with a drug kingpin; and, yeah, he's more than a bit quietly menacing, if a bit of a dandy.
