Obama: Republicans Don't Do Anything But Call Me Names! [VIDEO]
And also he's pretty sure they got a bigger piece of cake.
Barack Obama in a speech on Friday took an innovative step forward in policy discussion and blamed someone else for all of his troubles. Speaking on addressing the concerns of voters, the President claimed the administration would have gotten away with it, if it weren't for those damn Republicans.
"The only holdout standing in he way of change for tens of millions of Americans are some Republicans in congress," Obama told an enthusiastic Minneapolis crowd. "I just want to be real blunt. If you watch the news, you just see, OK, Washington is a mess. And the basic attitude is everybody is just crazy up there. But if you actually read the fine print, it turns out the things you actually care about are the things Democrats are promoting. And we're just not getting enough help!" The crowd cheered for the partisan jab, and the President took it a step further.
Obama has come under fire for his "go it alone" attitude and his multiple assertions that if congress won't enact the laws he wants, he will just bypass them and act on his own, leading many to refer to this as an "imperial presidency." Obama not only embraces that idea, but again blames Republicans for it. He told the crowd today that if Republicans don't like him taking the law into his own hands, their only option is to do and say and pass the things he wants, the idea of an opposition party being now completely passé.
“My message to Republicans is join us, get on board. If you're mad at me for helping people on my own then why don't you join me and we'll do it together. We'll do it together, I'm happy to share the credit. You're mad at me for doing some things to raise the minimum wage, let's pass a law!"
The President also characterized Republicans in congress as bullies who were mean to him. In a childish complaint borrowed directly from MSNBC, the President fussed that Republicans just like to attack him.
My wife who, bless her heart, doesn't cuss and rarely has an unkind word to say about anyone...as we were watching the FOX coverage of this speech tonight, I could hear her under her breathe saying as Obama was speaking: You little prick.
I thought that was pretty damn funny.
The duty of a true patriot is to protect his country from its government. ~ Thomas Paine
I, too, use little profanity, considering it a substandard form of expression, but people like Obama oft make me bite my tongue lest I violate my own standards.
That said, Rev, I hope the Mrs is doing better. She's in my prayers.
"It's inexcusable, and Americans are right to be angry about it, and I am angry about it. I will not tolerate this kind of behavior in any agency, but especially in the IRS, given the power that it has and the reach that it has into all of our lives. ... I'll do everything in my power to make sure nothing like this happens again by holding the responsible parties accountable. ..." -- President Barack Obama condemning "misconduct" at the Internal Revenue Service, May 15, 2013.
He's a petulant child. A narcissistic, petulant child.
"Obama’s ‘woe is me’ attitude"
"Say this for President Obama: He’s got an uncanny ability to block out distractions and keep his eye on the ball.
Facing a horrific expansion of terrorism in the Mideast, a meltdown of public support at home and major rebukes by the Supreme Court, the president remains fixated on No. 1.
“I’m finding lately I just want to say what’s on my mind,” he told a Minneapolis audience Friday, and then ticked off a series of complaints about — surprise — Republicans.
“They don’t do anything, except block me and call me names,” he said. “If they were more interested in growing the economy for you and the issues that you are talking about instead of trying to mess with me, we would be doing a lot better.”
He wasn’t finished: “The critics, the cynics in Washington, they’ve written me off more times than I can count. But cynicism doesn’t invent the Internet. Cynicism doesn’t give women the right to vote.”
There you have it: the presidential mind in Year 6. Don’t cry for Argentina — cry for me!
Self-pity is never admirable in a public figure, but it seems to be Obama’s default emotion when the going gets tough. Because everything is about him, the whole world is personal.
He is a victim of a vast conspiracy that includes everything from global upheaval to a domestic mood going from simmer to boil. If only everybody would just shut up and do what he says, all would be well."
