What a disgrace. Republican Senator Jeff Flake (R-AZ) said he agreed with former Governor Jeb Bush that illegal immigration can be considered an “act of love”. Flake posted the comments on Facebook Monday. The Huffington Post reported:
Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) on Monday agreed with former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush that illegal immigration can be considered an “act of love.”
Flake, in a Facebook post, praised Bush for speaking “so humanely and unapologetically about the motivations” of undocumented immigrants in a Fox News appearance that aired earlier this month.
“Truth is, I agree with Jeb, and I applaud him for having the guts to say it,” Flake wrote in the post on Monday. “Growing up here in Arizona, I’ve seen what motivates those who come here illegally. Sure, some come with the intent to do harm or simply to take advantage of our generosity. But many come to find work to feed their families. To lump everyone who crosses the border illegally into the same class is unfair and unproductive.”
Flake asserted his support for a more secure border and called for immigration reform that takes into account U.S. economic needs and a “rational” solution for those already here without documentation.
Flakey is going to be a one termer. He is a disaster as a Senator and he totally burned everyone that helped him get elected. That is why he and McLame have polling that is in the toilet. At least McLame has been in DC long enough to retire and not suffer the humiliation of losing. Here is something from just last month on how bad Flakey is doing...
McCain, Flake race for least popular senator prize
ZitatThe two Republican Arizona senators who worked with Democrats to pass an immigration bill last June have managed to sink their poll ratings to record lows.
Sen. John McCain has reached a 30 percent approval rating from Arizona voters.
Sen. Jeff Flake, however, managed to reach further down to 27 percent approval, according to the new survey of 870 voters by Public Policy Polling.
But McCain managed to boost his disapproval ratings up to 55 percent, while Flake only reached 47 percent.
That means McCain is five points ahead of Flake in the unpopularity contest, at -25 percent to Flake’s -20 percent.
“McCain has worst poll numbers in the country,” declared the PPP press statement.
Their Titanic-level poll ratings, however, aren’t lethal yet. McCain won’t face his constituents until 2016, and Flake won’t have to run until 2018.
The other two Republican senators who helped write the immigration bill, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham, also saw their poll ratings fall during the immigration fight.
