Lindsey Graham: ‘I Don’t Know What America First Means’ by Pam Key22 Jan 2017
Sunday on CBS’s “Face the Nation,” while discussing President Donald Trump’s inaugural address calling for his policy to be informed by putting “America first,” Sen. Lindsey Graham, (R-SC) said, “I don’t know what America first means.”
Graham said, “To the president, if America first is a throwback to the 20’sand 30’s isolationism when it was first used as a phrase, the world would deteriorate even quicker, if it is a new way of Ronald Reagan’s peace through strength I would like to work with him. I don’t know what America first means.”
Zitat“To the president, if America first is a throwback to the 20’sand 30’s isolationism..."
Bad history designed to support what is either ignorance or a bald faced lie. America First meant non-interventionism, especially when it came to the wars in Europe. This position, however, ran counter to the secret war mongering policies of the Roosevelt administration, and so the usual smear campaign commenced. The campaign ratcheted upward when Hitler invaded the Soviet Union and the America First committee was subjected to relentless calumny.
Just consider this membership:
ZitatThe America First Committee had its share of prominent businessmen as well as the sympathies of political figures including Democratic Senators Burton K. Wheeler of Montana and David I. Walsh of Massachusetts, Republican Senator Gerald P. Nye of North Dakota, and Socialist Party leader Norman Thomas, with its most prominent spokesman being aviator Charles A. Lindbergh. Other celebrities supporting America First were novelist Sinclair Lewis, poet E. E. Cummings, Washington socialite Alice Roosevelt Longworth, film producer Walt Disney, actress Lillian Gish and architect Frank Lloyd Wright. The many student chapters included future celebrities, such as author Gore Vidal (as a student at Phillips Exeter Academy), and the future President Gerald Ford, at Yale Law School.[8]
Undoubtedly a collection of Fascist sympathizers, or so they were portrayed.
So when President Trump is attacked because he wants to put our country first (as he should) you are seeing echoes of the propaganda campaign of the 40s.
"I was part of a 30 million woman march in November. We marched our asses right into a voting booth and voted for President Trump".

Theresa May seems to understand 'America First'. Too bad for Lady Lindsay.
"Asked about Trump’s vow in his inaugural address to pursue protectionist policies under the slogan “America first,” May said Sunday that she was unconcerned. “If you think about it, any leader, any government, as we do here in the United Kingdom when we look at any issue, we ensure that we’re putting the U.K.’s interests and the interests of British people first,” she said.
"It’s a movement comprised of Americans from all races, religions, backgrounds and beliefs, who want and expect our government to serve the people, and serve the people it will." Donald Trump's Victory Speech 11/9/16

Thanks for the reminder of how far back this nonsense goes.
When I informed a neighbor that after WWII the US turned the handling of its refugee program over to the UN she just flat out could not believe it. I offer to give her references from UN and Fed.gov pages but she just walked away.

A non-response which is all too common these days and which is the cause of much trouble and strife. It is women (and men) such as this that the MSM feeds off.

I agree with what everyone's posted on this thread so far, but I have a different question:
Where was Juan McInsane while Lady Lindsey was speaking? Have they polished their ventriloquist/dummy act to the point where he can be in a different room when Ms. Graham speaks? Impressive!
