Transcript Read the full transcript of President Obama's farewell speech
It’s good to be home. My fellow Americans, Michelle and I have been so touched by all the well-wishes we’ve received over the past few weeks. But tonight it’s my turn to say thanks. Whether we’ve seen eye-to-eye or rarely agreed at all, my conversations with you, the American people – in living rooms and schools; at farms and on factory floors; at diners and on distant outposts – are what have kept me honest, kept me inspired, and kept me going. Every day, I learned from you. You made me a better president, and you made me a better man.
I first came to Chicago when I was in my early 20s, still trying to figure out who I was; still searching for a purpose to my life.
What gets to me is the tears. Obamaniacs have lives so empty, so sterile, they start to cry as he exits the stage (well, this one anyway). Perhaps this explains the Cult of Personality the Left erects around its leaders and their willingness to acquiesce in every one of their policies even if it curtails their freedom or cost a king's ransom. They are looking for a daddy.

Interesting observation
Progressvnes denial of human nature and responsibility for their actions seems to make it easier for them to turn all aspects of their lives over to big government.
Like young children who depend upon their parents to keep them safe by setting boundaries, progressives depend upon big government and its representative to set boundaries aka micro manage their lives.

During times of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act.- Orwell
Remember that guy from years ago who asked Bush 41 what he would do as the nation's father about something or other? Bush should have told him he wasn't the guy's daddy, but he failed to do so. Nonetheless the very question was indicative of the dependency mindset of a Liberal.
