The story itself is inconsequential. What does matter is that once again Obama has violated tradition and proper conduct. Presidents do not criticize private American citizens while abroad, or didn't until this guy. His comments are also amusing given how ignorant about foreign affairs he was when first elected, and still is.
ZitatPresident Obama said world leaders are "rattled" by Donald Trump as the likely Republican nominee for the U.S. presidency.
"They are paying very close attention to this election," the president told reporters Wednesday in Japan of his discussions with world leaders.
"They are surprised by the Republican nominee. They are not sure how seriously to take some of his pronouncements but they’re rattled by him, and for good reason."
Trump has shown an "ignorance of world affairs or a cavalier attitude or an interest in getting tweets and headlines instead of actually thinking through what it is required to keep America safe and secure and prosperous,” Obama said.
The president made his comments after ending his first day of meetings at the G7 summit

That must be the new talking points. I saw Hillary say the exact same thing yesterday. .......couldn't get to my remote fast enough so saw it.

Translation? "We like the wussified America with leaders like you Barry. What's going to happen to all those treaties you and Kerry wrote? And the globalization of the cultural decay?"

With attribution to the college president of DePaul Univ (an intellectual giant, I'm sure), I have my standard response to any thread containing the utterances of our Divider-In-Chief. Here it is:
Zitat“Generally, I do not respond to speakers of Mr. Obama's ilk, as I believe they are more entertainers and self-serving provocateurs than the public intellectuals they purport to be,” Rufus T. Firefly wrote.” Their shtick is to shock and incite a strong emotional response they can then use to discredit the moral high ground claimed by their opponents. This is unworthy of public discourse, but not unfamiliar across American politics. There will always be demogogues who exploit the differences within our human community to their own benefit, blissfully unconcerned with the damage they leave behind.”
