I always thought these Mercs were cool because they are designed that you can still see the tail lights if you run it with the tailgate down. If you look at the pics, you can see the linkages that flip them down as the gate goes down.

No. First off, I only collect wallpaper woody wagons from the 60' to the early 90's. When you get into real wood, the expense of upkeep and repair is insane. Who want's to drive a car built by a furniture company (Ionia in Ypsilanti, MI). Secondly, I don't buy cars without factory air anymore. I am getting too old for rolling down your windows crap. Finally, I don't collect Ford garbage. I am a GM and Mercedes guy. I did get into the bidding on a recent AMC wagon though. A Pacer with woodgrain. The only reason I thought it was worth collecting was because I never saw a Pacer before with power windows ...
