Yet another "Catholic" university, operated by Jesuits, shows its commitment to free speech, tolerance, and the free exchange of ideas.
ZitatDinesh D’Souza will come give a 45 minute to one hour speech on some of his opinions about the United States. Following his speech, there will be time for audience members to ask questions to him into a microphone. Then he will do a book signing of his new book.

ZitatGonzaga University Bans Public From D’Souza Lecture, Claims He is ‘Nasty’ and ‘Anti-Immigration’
Gonzaga University has officially banned public attendance to Dinesh D’Souza’s upcoming lecture which will be hosted by the Young America’s Foundation (YAF) on campus, claiming that D’Souza is “a nasty guy” whose message is “contradictory” to the university’s “social justice” mission, according to YAF’s Emily Jashinsky.
ZitatMary Joan Hahn, the university’s director of community and public relations, said via email that Dubois is not citing the right reason for keeping the presentation private.
“Most of the speakers invited by student groups are for our students,” Hahn said. “It is less common for us to invite the public to those events.”
Hahn said the university offers numerous lectures by faculty or academically sponsored guest speakers where the public is welcome to attend.
“This isn’t a political rally or debate; it’s meant to be a thoughtful exchange that leads to learning,” Hahn said.
Gonzaga has apparently relented. I sent the university's president a rather strongly worded letter condemning their speaker's policy and today I got this response.
ZitatThank you for taking the time to reach out with your thoughts.
Gonzaga is looking forward to welcoming political commentator Dinesh D'Souza to campus to speak on Feb. 24. This event is sponsored by the College Republican student organization, and is open to the Gonzaga community – students, faculty and staff.
Please know that your perspective has been heard and shared. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Mary Joan

You will note no reason is given for allowing him to enter the sacred grounds of Gonzaga, but the good news is he's going to speak there. Maybe it was public pressure but I like to think this is due to my letter.
