If that were true, they would have competent people doing it. As it stands, almost everyone involved in over seas policy making is woefully inept. Susan Rice, Hitlary, Kerry. These are all backbench people who got their jobs because they were owed something. The Regime cares so little about these issues. Just look at who they nominated recently for Ambassador slots across the world. Many admitted that they never were to these countries, didn;t know anything about them at all. They just raised a pile of cash for the Regime last election and was owed.

If the Regime was interested in shifting Foreign Policy in a real way, they would put serious people in there that know how to get the job done in the short time they have to do it.

That's how you and I would likely go about it. We value competence and efficiency.

Obama and his advisers's methods are different. Susan Rice, Hitlary, Kerry may be inept from our point of view but they are inept in a predictable manner driven by ideology. Obama gets to reward money raisers who will run foreign policy in way that decreases US power and prestige while encouraging the enemy. And it can all be blamed on incompetence, poor communications, not evil intentions. After all who in congress will go past some show investigations and hold any of them accountable.
