How do we acquire such stupid leaders?

Sept. 29, 2015, Kevin McCarthy:
“Everybody thought Hillary Clinton was unbeatable, right? But we put together a Benghazi special committee, a select committee. What are her numbers today? Her numbers are dropping. Why? Because she’s untrustable. But no one would have known any of that had happened, had we not fought.”

Elijah Cummings today:
Ranking Member Elijah Cummings used the majority of his opening statement to defend Clinton and to accuse Republicans of a political witch hunt. "Republicans continue to spin new conspiracy theories that are just as outlandish and inaccurate," Cummings said. "The Select Committee has spent 17 months and $4.7 million in taxpayer funds. We have held four hearings and conducted 54 interviews and depositions. Yes, we have received some new emails—from Secretary Clinton, Ambassador Stevens, and others. And yes, we have conducted some new interviews. But these documents and interviews do not show any nefarious activity. In fact, it’s just the opposite. The new information we have obtained confirms and corroborates the core facts we already knew from the eight previous investigations. They provide more detail, but they do not change the basic conclusions. It is time for Republicans to end this taxpayer-funded fishing expedition. We need to come together and shift from politics to policy."

Now the R's can deny this is a witch hunt all they want. Kevin McCarthy's poorly chosen words will always be there to give the Dems a much needed assist. This is so aggravating! Four dead American heroes and we get Kevin McCarthy issuing the single most stupid comment of the 2016 campaign.

It's why we need Donald Trump at the helm to call things straight. It's impossible to ignore Trump when he speaks directly. Trump/Carson is my dream ticket. TM

Hillary today:
"We need leadership at home to match our leadership abroad, leadership that puts national security ahead of politics and ideology," Clinton said in her opening remarks, the closest she came to directly rebuking her GOP investigators.

I have long suspected that in order to get the support of the eGOP you must be either easily bribed or blackmailed. Very few who are not in either category are allowed to reach the state or national level in politics.
