Unbelievable. The sob deserted in a combat zone and went over to the enemy quite possibly (and probably) willingly. Now some Lt Col recommends the little twerp not serve any jail time or, according to the story, "a punitive discharge". No light bird has the authority to make such a recommendation. This came from higher up and is strictly designed to provide some cover for Obama's worthless skinny ass.
I'm disgusted by this.
ZitatSgt. Bowe Bergdahl shouldn’t face jail time or a punitive discharge from the military, according to a recommendation from an Army officer revealed late Friday in a filing from Sgt. Bergdahl’s defense team.
The full recommendation from Lt. Col. Mark Visger hasn’t yet been made public by the Army in the case of Sgt. Bergdahl, who faces desertion and other misconduct charges after he allegedly left his unit in Afghanistan in 2009 and was captured by insurgents.
An Army spokesman declined to comment on the specifics of Sgt. Bergdahl’s legal case.
Col. Visger presided over an Article 32 hearing, the military equivalent of a preliminary hearing, in Sgt. Bergdahl’s case last month. During that hearing, the lead military investigator in the case said he didn’t believe Sgt. Bergdahl should be jailed.
Col. Visger’s recommendation as the presiding officer of the Article 32 proceeding represents a setback for the Army’s case against Sgt. Bergdahl.
[snip]
According to Eugene Fidell, Sgt. Bergdahl’s civilian defense lawyer, Col. Visger recommended a special court-martial for Sgt. Bergdahl, which is essentially a military version of a misdemeanor court.

I'm too fed up with so many things to even make a comment other than "DISGUSTING."
Yes, they attack us from so many points that's it's difficult to know where to react. These insults, that wrong, that obscenity? We can't set them all right and it tends to make us freeze and eventually come to accept what they're doing because we just don't know how to fight back. That incrementalism crap.
