Ok, I watched it, beginning to end, because I am a little short on my masochism credits for 2014. Now I am caught up until June, 2016.
He was boring. He spoke too long and offered nothing really new except he's going to use his pen to curtail our freedoms and, by gum, he's going to close Guantanamo this year (yeah, we'll see). Other than that it was a long string of subjects loosely connected, each followed by the usual obligatory applause, though the applause wasn't all that strong. Much of his talk was illustrated by anecdotes on how well he has done and some of it was complete bovine excrement as he claimed credit for things he is not responsible for (e.g., an increase in petroleum production). Of course, he never mentioned Keystone or Benghazi or the shortcomings with ObamaCare or anything which might prove embarrassing or make him look bad.
It's pretty ironic that this President often begins his biggest lies with, "Let me be perfectly clear..."
"Let me be clear: Success should be judged by results, and data is a powerful tool to determine results." "Let me be clear: Iran's nuclear and ballistic missile activity poses a real threat, not just to the United States, but to Iran's neighbors and our allies." "Let me be clear: The United States government has no interest in running GM." "Let me be clear: America wants a strong, peaceful, and prosperous Russia." "Let me be clear: It's outrageous that we find ourselves in a position where taxpayers must bear the burden for the greed and irresponsibility of Wall Street and Washington," Obama said in September 2008. "Let me absolutely clear. It would be pretty hard for me to be condescending towards people of faith since I'm a person of faith and have done more than most other campaigns in reaching out specifically to people of faith." And are you ready for the biggest one? "Now let me be clear -- let me be absolutely clear," he said in his joint address to Congress. "If your family earns less than $250,000 a year, a quarter-million dollars a year, you will not see your taxes increased a single dime. I repeat: not one single dime." Since then, several proposals have muddied that assertion, including the Obama-approved tax on costly health insurance plans."
Let me be clear = What follows is going to be a whopper!!!
