Yup .... both wings of the progressive party are represented.
Honestly?
Sadly, progressives could care less about the accusation of corruption. Big deal. Whatever gets them what they want is acceptable, regardless of it being honest.
I am of the opinion that a synonym for "progressive" is "statist" - so in that regard we do live under one-party "progressive" rule.
And I know this is off-topic, but I wanted to bring this up regarding the so-called "news" media that supports everything progressive. They stopped (if they ever even started) speaking "truth to power" long ago.
I was watching an excellent documentary on Netflix on Flight 800 (the one that went down in the Atlantic off Long Island back in '96). Now I'm generally not a wholesale believer in conspiracies, but this is one I've always believed had some merit. And the documentary went into great detail about how the FBI (and even the CIA) basically pushed the NTSB aside (the agency generally charged with investigating plane crashes) very early in the investigation. Very experienced NTSB and other nvestigators (not crackpots) were interviewed for the documentary, stating how evidence was tampered with and the numerous witnesses were ignored and - in one case - even threatened.
The FBI and the CIA folks had their agenda, and by gosh they were going to stick to it.
So what was it about the "news" media that stood out in this documentary? Well - it was them acting just as they do now - NBC in particular (surprise, surprise). Clips were shown from the NBC nightly "news" - and they were extremely slanted and favoring of the GOVERNMENT position.
Pravda couldn't have done a better job in the old USSR.
