The NPR show “Democracy Now” had a glowing report on the release of disbarred lawyer Lynne Stewart, complete with cheering supporters and crying family members. Not much about her crime though.
That’s because Stewart was convicted of helping Omar Abdel-Rahman, ‘the Blind Sheik”, who was in prison for planning bombings in New York after the first Twin Towers attack, which he was convicted of planning as well.
Stewart was convicted for, “conspiring to provide material support to the conspiracy to kill and kidnap persons in a foreign country, and with conspiring to conceal and disguise Abdel Rahman’s service as personnel to prepare for and carry out that conspiracy.”
Stewart had helped Rahman transmit messages to his followers while on trial. She was given a prison term of ten years, but has been granted a “compassionate release” on account of metastasized breast cancer which only gives her 18 months to live.
But “Democracy Now” neglected to acknowledge Rahman terror ties, saying only that Stewart was imprisoned “for distributing press releases on behalf of her client, Omar Abdel Rahman, an Egyptian cleric known as the ‘blind Sheikh.’”
Funny how that works, huh? Not a mention that the terrorist is imprisoned for life for planning the first World Trade Center attacks. You’d almost think they were sympathetic to him.
Well, here's another one of America's finest seeking release from jail so they can go home to die.
"O.J. Simpson is receiving tests for brain cancer and is begging President Barack Obama for a pardon so he can die in peace at home, according to a new report.
The jailed former football legend, who is serving out a kidnapping, assault and robbery sentence in a Nevada prison, is undergoing secret medical exams for a cancerous tumor in his brain and is convinced he hasn't got long to live, The National Enquirer reports.
The publication reported just months ago that the 66-year-old had such an extreme case of diabetes that his life was at risk and brain cancer would certainly add to his health woes."
