Author Peter Schweizer may be a conservative, but that doesn’t mean his investigations don’t have merit, and his allegations won’t stick. It’s a mistake for the Clinton campaign to write off conservative author Peter Schweizer as a right-wing hack. It won’t work, and it’s not true. If he were as off-base as the campaign and its allies portray him, would a high-quality publication like The New York Times risk its reputation by partnering with him? And would Common Cause, the gold standard for good-government groups, which is currently chaired by former Clinton Labor Secretary Robert Reich, be calling for an independent review that would be made public of all large donations to the Clinton Foundation?
The Clintons have a standard template for pushing back, and they’re going to use it to make questions about their finances seem part of the vast right-wing conspiracy, but character assassination only goes so far. It may work for a while, but if the data in Schweizer’s upcoming book, Clinton Cash, survives the vetting it will get from the mainstream media, Clinton will have to clean up her act. Aside from actual wrongdoing, and there’s no evidence of that, this is about the appearance of conflicts of interest, and in politics, appearances are everything.
The most damaging concerns have to do with foreign money seeping into the Clinton family foundation and whether any of that money found its way to her campaign. Should she become president, would these foreign friends that have enriched the Clinton Foundation and the Clintons themselves through exorbitant speaking fees receive preferential treatment?

When Clinton testified before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee in her confirmation hearing to become secretary of state, lawmakers flagged her husband’s foundation and its prodigious fundraising as a potential conflict of interest. This is a new kind of conundrum, a former president whose spouse and foundation raise all kinds of money on the way to the White House.
“Clinton needs to be clear and careful,” says Spaulding. While no one is alleging illegality, there are legitimate questions about appearances that if Clinton does not adequately address will have the effect of further weakening citizens’ faith in their government, and in her capacity as a leader. In every crisis, there is opportunity. Recognizing what a conservative critic has to say and not necessarily why he says it would be a good beginning.
So Eleanor Clift sure appears to be jumping ship. I saw Lanny Davis pimping all over trying to pump air into her disastrous roll out campaign this 'bee yatch' is in a heap of trouble. TM

"He asserted that this scandal has the potential of being even more damaging due to the fact that, unlike her response to the Benghazi attacks or her use of personal email to conduct official business, “taking money from a foreign government when you hold a Cabinet job is a potential conflict of interest that everyone can grasp.”
The scandal could prove “fatal to Clinton’s candidacy,” he insisted, sharing the sentiment of many Republicans who are calling on her to release any and all relevant information about the donations her foundation received." http://www.westernjournalism.com/dem-may...llary-campaign/

So, if even stupid voters that the dems count on to vote for them, can understand this - she's in deep doo doo.

If Eleanor Clift has turned on her, she's in deep doo doo. There is something about Hillary that repulses even far lefties, and please don't say it's a lack of veracity or ethics. These same people have done nothing but defend Obama for the last six years despite his record of broken promises, lies, and lawless conduct. It's something else.
"This is the most lavishly funded and entirely moronic foreign ministry on the planet."~~Mark Steyn's description of the US State Dept.
The story grows, now BC and dtr are heading on a tour of Africa with their large donors. Hillary must've told Bill to get out of town and off the headlines. The boy Bill can't seem to do anything right by her. TM ***************
Bill Clinton's Africa entourage
Donors and big campaign fundraisers join ex-president on his annual foundation trip abroad.
On their nine-day trip to Africa, Bill and Chelsea Clinton are traveling with 20 wealthy donors and foundation supporters, a group that includes fundraisers for Hillary Clinton’s presidential bid and others who are expected to give generously to her campaign. The opportunity to accompany Bill Clinton on trips across the globe on behalf of his philanthropic foundation has for years been considered both a reward for past donations and an inducement for future giving, say sources familiar with the foundation’s finance operation. This trip, they say, was an especially coveted invite — one that was extended to wealthy Clinton supporters.
The foundation, which provided the list of donors on the trip upon POLITICO’s request, said the group represents both longtime supporters as well as those who are just getting involved, and provides an opportunity to see the projects they are specifically funding.
Along this year for the annual foundation trip abroad is Jay Jacobs and his wife, Mindy, longtime Clinton fundraisers and foundation supporters. Jacobs, who has donated between $500,000 and $1 million to the foundation, is also a “Hillstarter,” a “Ready for Hillary” donor, and is planning to be a major fundraiser for Clinton campaign, as he was in 2008. Last month, Jacobs, the CEO of a chain of summer camps, brought Clinton in to give a paid speech at the American Camp Association, where he also lead a q-and-a session with her on the stage.
