David Horowitz explains how he would unite the right and in doing so argues that one of the big problems on the right is there are many conservatives who “are not disposed to fight a political war”. He says that the only time Republicans show an appetite for blood in the political arena is when they are fighting each other — which is absolutely true. Just look at the government shutdown when McCain and the Senate Republicans opposed the House Republicans and Senator Ted Cruz. It got ugly. But they always roll over when it comes to fighting the left and McCain’s 2008 campaign for president is all the proof you need of that.
Horowitz goes on to explain that “you can’t galvanize a force capable of opposing these progressives…without having a passionate cause yourself” and argues that passionate cause should be “freedom”.
Well after the treatment Ted Cruz got from the liberal wing of the party I'd say it was a one way street. He did not issue any scathing words against individual republicans, simply policy differences. While McCain went to the Senate floor to ream Cruz out personally. That's how it looks from here.
There's no longer an anti-war Left. There's only an anti-Right Left

It's always a one way street. Same thing happened in '76 and '80 to Reagan. The Ford/Dole/Bush/Baker wing of the party tried to destroy him while he stayed mostly on message about Conservatism.
Usually I am a great fan of Mr Horowitz but I find his call to unity and for an end to internecine political fighting a bit ironic given that it is he who has led the fight against Diana West and her provocative work American Betrayal.
It is quite one thing to disagree with Ms West's thesis. People of good will can do that. But as she notes the Horowitz/Radosh attack has been "mendacious".

Oh geez. I thought this was the Consumer Advocate David Horowitz who did this piece. My mistake....

The right is united. And it's those Undocumented Democrats with an "R" after their names (RINOs), who will fight only if it's to attack a conservative.
