Mitt Romney whined to CNN, "I don't think Trumpism is going away."
Why would any intelligent person believe otherwise? In 4 short years, President Donald John Trump has done everything Republicans promised to do for decades.
He cut taxes, he cut regulations, he brought jobs back to America, and he got illegal aliens to self-deport.
That is only the short-list off the top of my head of his many, many, many accomplishments.
Now, hoping Xiden (as a reader called him) becomes president, Mittens nevertheless is appalled that Donald Trump will remain leader of the Republican Party.
He told Dana Bash of CNN, "Well, I think President Trump will continue to have substantial influence on the party, and I think if you look at the people who are rumored to be thinking of running in 2024, besides the president, those are people who are trying to appeal to kind of a populist approach, so I don’t think Trumpism is going away."
Republicans do not want President Trump to go away because Donald Trump was a highly successful president who dropped unemployment top 3.5% and got two or three vaccines to the people in less than eight months under his Operation Warp Speed.
So what is Romney's problem with what he calls Trumpism?
It could have been Romneyism.
In fact, most supporters of Donald Trump voted for Mittens in 2012. We weren't particularly choosy then or in 2016. We only wanted someone who would fight for us and do our bidding once elected.
There was plenty of fight in Donald Trump.
But Romney would not even fight for himself. He let Harry Reid shove him around with an outrageous lie that he had not paid his taxes.
Romney let Candy Crowley lie about him to his face and to 100 million people.
Nobody shoves Donald Trump around. No one. He has taken on the entire capital. He has shown the Supreme Court for the cowards they are. Sadly, all 3 justices he appointed betrayed America and the Constitution in voting against hearing the Texas case.
If the Republic is to survive, it needs a strong Republican Party -- not a Romneyed one.
We tried that.
We lost.
We tried Trumpism. We won, and it worked -- even with all of Washington opposing it.
