ZitatA fired-up Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., appeared to issue a vague warning toward Supreme Court Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh on Wednesday, during a rally held as the court heard arguments in a high-profile abortion case.
At the rally hosted by the Center for Reproductive Rights, Schumer noted that the case, June Medical Services LLC v. Russo, is the first "major" abortion case since President Trump's court picks have been on the bench. The dispute, dealing with restrictions over who can perform abortions, involves a Louisiana law similar to one in Texas that the court ruled unconstitutional in 2016, before either Trump justice was on the Supreme Court and before conservatives held a 5-4 majority.
"I want to tell you, Gorsuch. I want to tell you, Kavanaugh. You have released the whirlwind and you will pay the price!" Schumer warned. "You won’t know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions."
Video of the remarks quickly circulated on social media, with Republicans casting the warning as a threat against two sitting Supreme Court justices.
Schumer did not explain what "price" this would be as far as the justices are concerned. But reached for comment, his office said in a statement to Fox News: "It’s a reference to the political price [Republicans] will pay for putting them on the court and a warning that the justices will unleash a major grassroots movement on the issue of reproductive rights against the decision."
This is bloody unconscionable. A powerful senator warning two Supreme Court justices, and by extension the entire Supreme Court, there will be unspecified retaliation if they vote against his wishes on a pending case. If any Republican senator, or especially the president, had done such a thing, all hell would have broken loose.

Of course that doesn't explain why Chuckie named Gorsuch and Kavanaugh specifically in his threat, nor why he said "I want to tell you, Gorsuch. I want to tell you, Kavanaugh. You have released the whirlwind and you will pay the price!"
Anyone think McConnell will introduce a bill of censure?

The Senate is expected to vote today on a motion to censure Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer for what pro-life Senator Josh Hawley of Missouri says are “disgusting, shameful, and frankly, WEAK” threats agaisnt the Supreme Court justices.
“I would call on Schumer to apologize, but we all know he has no shame,” Hawley tweeted late Wednesday. “So tomorrow I will introduce a motion to censure Schumer for his pathetic attempt at intimidation.”
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell plans to get the vote started with his own rebuke of Schumer.
“Contrary to what the Democratic leader has tried to claim, he very clearly was not addressing Republican lawmakers or anybody else,” McConnell’s prepared statement reads. “He literally directed the statement to the justices, by name. And he said, quote, ‘if you go forward with these awful decisions,’ which could only apply to the court itself. The minority leader of the United States Senate threatened two associate justices of the U.S. Supreme Court. Period.”
ZitatOur spineless Republican Senators are not brave enough to even talk about the resolution to condemn and censor Schumer. It was introduced by Senator Josh Hawley on March 5th and is currently with the ethics committee and they’re doing nothing.
The senators on the ethics committee are James Lankford (Oklahoma), Christopher Coons (Delaware), Pat Robbers (Kansas), Brian Schatz (Hawaii), James Risch (Idaho) and Jeanne Shaheen (New Hampshire).
If you Google “censuring Chuck Schumer” you won’t find any links newer than about a week old. I think you can assume the issue is officially dead.
Back on March 9th, dozens of conservatives also signed a letter calling for Schumer to be censured. These conservatives include former South Carolina Senator Jim DeMint and former Ronald Reagan campaign adviser, Ed Rollins.
The letter stated, “Schumer’s threatening words were unmistakable, unprecedented and unacceptable…Schumer unmistakably meant to threaten Justice Gorsuch and Kavanauh.”
Once again, as we all know, Democrats can pretty much say and do what they want with impunity.
