ZitatSenator Kamala Harris recently announced that she will be running for president in the 2020 election and has begun to share her agenda.
During a CNN town hall, Harris expressed her approval for a “Medicare for all” system.
“We need to have Medicare for all,” said Harris, who was a co-signer of Medicare for All Act by Senator Bernie Sanders.
However, host Jake Tapper pointed out that many may be reluctant to give up their freedom to choose what type of coverage they have. Harris responded with claims that free healthcare will give them the same freedoms.
“The idea is that everyone gets access to medical care and you don’t have to go through the process of going through an insurance company, having them give you approval, going through all the paperwork, all of the delay that may require,” Harris said. “Who of all us have not had that situation where you have to wait for approval and the doctor says, ‘I don’t know if your insurance company is going to cover this.'”
“Let’s eliminate all of that,” Harris said. “Let’s move on.”
Well, so much for the Left's vaunted "freedom of choice". There is something like 150-160 million people covered by private insurance, but no matter. We must all be subordinate units of the state. Otoh, at least she isn't employing the Obama lie, "If you like your health insurance plan, you can keep it."
How can the Democrats say they support border security when they also advocate for sanctuary cities?
