ZitatA 20-year-old who allegedly confessed to his role as the getaway driver was charged with capital murder in connection to the death of Jazmine Barnes, the 7-year-old fatally shot in a drive-by near a northeast Houston Walmart a week ago.
Eric Black Jr. was arrested Saturday after deputies pulled him over for not using a turn signal, then found marijuana on him and realized he was also the suspect in a murder.
After authorities took him in for questioning, Black allegedly said the slaying was a mistake, and the family was never the intended target. The men didn't realize they'd targeted the wrong people until they saw it on the news, prosecutors said Sunday.

Police have spent the last week searching for a white man with blue eyes driving a red, four-door pickup – the description of the shooter provided by Barnes' sister, who was also in the car.
But civil rights activist Shaun King -- who worked to push a reward up to $100,000 for identification of the killer – posted on Twitter Sunday morning that the driver in the truck was simply mistaken for a suspect as he drove away from the gunfire.
"It appears that man was an innocent bystander who fled, actually fearing for his life as well," King tweeted. "He was not the shooter."
Wonder what they'll charge the sister with, since she was in the car with Barnes, and steered toward an innocent man, wasting time, money and police resources.
