Donald Trump, is a populist. Like him or not, he is doing exactly what 'we the people' elected him to do. And he's doing it quite well! Is there any doubt about it? Perhaps you don't like him, but I'm one of those who say, "Thank God for Donald Trump!" There's been no one like him in courage, strength and focus.
Well, many haven't been dealing very well with Trump's victory and/or their loss. Rosie O'Donnell said this week that she wants the military to go to the White House "to get" Donald Trump. What? Many are in great frustration over Donald Trump being the President, but now two years later, the election isn't over, they're still seeking any way to expose him and render his election victory, illegitimate [the empty two year Russian collusion investigation, gripes about the Electoral College, abuses of governmental agencies [Steele dossier] to thwart Trump and his agenda]. These want to deny Donald Trump any success as a President [false accusations, denying robust economic achievements, denying his role in unemployment and manufacturing job's improving numbers and then an overwhelmingly negative press]
Nevertheless Trump's populist victory was and is as real as it gets! His Presidency so far, has been an expression of the Will of the People, being fulfilled. Those who say the election was illegitimate don't comprehend the populist movement underway. Because an election doesn't go your way does not make it illegitimate. It means your will and perhaps your presumptions were not selected in the last election. You may sincerely believe that you know what's best but this new authoritarian path that is being encouraged is very dangerous! It's America's death! it rejects American tradition.
The despicable treatment of Kanye West comes to mind [called on a CNN panel a "house negro" and "what happens when Negroes don't read"]. Is anyone listening? So desperate to get their way, they've adopted this New Authoritarianism to self-justify anything they do or say. Should they be allowed this license to destroy? to impose their ideas on Americans, whether we like them or not?
We've seen murderous violence [Steve Scalise], mob rejection of free speech on campuses [David Horowitz, Milo Yiannopoulos, Ann Coulter and others], rejection of the Rule of Law [wanting to eliminate ICE, imposing cultural agendas via the courts, wanting a no-border immigration policy, no voter ID and refusing service in public restaurants [Sarah Sanders, Betsy DeVos, Ted Cruz and others]. These self-justifying New Authoritarians are refusing to accept as equal, those who are not of their opinion. I hope going forward, this upcoming election, that we're not put on their path. I hope that the American people will feel their way is not the way to make America great.
These New Authoritarians have shown themselves above the law and willing to abandon America's time honored traditions when they are losing. Their obvious goal is, 'by any means necessary'. I hope and pray that this unruly and the ungovernable crowd are soundly defeated once again this November. May Donald Trump's populist revolution in government continue! Power to the People! Once again!
"The demographic most opposed to President Trump is not a racial minority, but a cultural elite." Daniel Greenberg
"Failure to adequately denounce Islamic extremism, not only denies the existence of an absolute moral wrong but inherently diminishes our chances of defeating it." Tulsi Gabbard
"It’s a movement comprised of Americans from all races, religions, backgrounds and beliefs, who want and expect our government to serve the people, and serve the people it will." Donald Trump's Victory Speech 11/9/16
