Trump Tells The UN: Socialism, Communism Only Produce ‘Suffering, Corruption, Decay’ 1:14 PM 09/25/2018 Benny Johnson | Reporter At Large
President Donald Trump directly attacked the ideologies of socialism and communism in remarks to the United Nations, saying they produce “suffering, corruption, and decay.”
Trump addressed the global body Tuesday morning in New York City.
“Currently, we are witnessing a human tragedy, as an example, in Venezuela,” Trump said. “More than 2 million people have fled to the English inflicted by the socialist regime, and its Cuban sponsors,” Trump said, “Not long ago, Venezuela was one of the richest countries on earth. Today, socialism has bankrupted the oil-rich nation and driven its people into abject poverty.”
Venezuela is experiencing sky-high inflation, starvation and political violence.
Trump continued, “Virtually everywhere, socialism or communism has been tried, it has produced suffering, corruption, and decay.” (RELATED: 280 Percent Increase In Young Democratic Socialists Of America Chapters On College Campuses)
“All nations of the world should resist socialism and the misery that it brings to everyone,” Trump concluded, “In that spirit, we ask the nations gathered here to join us in calling for the restoration of democracy in Venezuela. Today we are announcing additional sanctions against the repressive regime, targeting the inner circle and close advisors. We are grateful for all of the work the United Nations does around the world to help the people build better lives for themselves and their families.”
Amazing! An American President goes to that clown school on the Hudson and tells a largely collectivist audience the truth about their shared ideology. I wonder if his words will make a dent in the thick skulls of those representatives of the "international community" and I am proud of President Trump for calling for them to face the truth.
