'I Fear for Lady Justice': Judge Jeanine Slams Democrats' Handling of Kavanaugh Allegation
ZitatIn her Opening Statement on Saturday, Judge Jeanine Pirro weighed in on the controversy surrounding Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh, and Democrats' "stunning" dismissal of the fundamental rules of the American justice system.
California professor Christine Blasey Ford has accused Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her at a high school party in the 1980s, which has thrown Kavanaugh's confirmation process into chaos.
Judge Jeanine said that many Democratic lawmakers have immediately assumed that Ford is telling the truth, Kavanaugh is guilty and he should not be seated on the high court.
"Forget a trial, due process or even hearing from the victim, the Constitution be damned," Judge Jeanine said.
She slammed Democratic lawmakers for dismissing the fundamental rules of the U.S. justice system, noting that there are no corroborating witnesses and no evidence to back up Ford's claims.
"A man's reputation, career and civil liberties are at stake," Judge Jeanine said.
She said truth and justice -- not to mention law and order -- should not change based on political parties, and Lady Justice must remain blind.
"Now, I fear for her. I fear for Lady Justice. But not just Lady Justice -- our institutions and our bedrock constitutional rules that have made America what Ronald Reagan referred to as the shining city on the hill.
