"The Internal Revenue Service has hit Robert De Niro with a $6.4 million tax lien, according to records filed this month.
In a notice sent to New York City’s Department of Finance, the IRS reports that the 71-year-old De Niro owes the whopping bill in connection with his personal 1040 filing for 2013.
The federal tax lien reports that the two-time Academy Award winner owes the IRS $6,410,449.20, and that the hefty assessment was lodged against De Niro three months ago.
The February 3 lien lists De Niro’s residence as a Tribeca condominium that was developed by the actor and his real estate partners.
According to the IRS, the agency will file a lien against a taxpayer’s property when “you neglect or fail to pay a tax debt. The lien protects the government’s interest in all your property, including real estate, personal property and financial assets.” An IRS lien also serves as a warning to other creditors that Uncle Sam has a legal right to your property."
So, you ask? Because De Niro has been a long time and outspoken supporter of the most profligate President in our history, Barack Obama. Maybe like country singer Willie Nelson he should be less anxious to advocate government spending and more anxious to pay for it.
Allahu Akbar" is Arabic for "Nothing to see here"~~Mark Steyn explaining the reaction of Obama, Hollande, et. al., to Muslim terror attacks.
the libs, on their own, give the least to charity.
they brag publicly about their compassion, they use taxes as a religious duty and act as if paying higher taxes is a righteous act. but as they want higher taxes and more government provided services they at the same time squeal and shriek when those services and programs result in their taxes coming due.
Tom Daschle has been put out to pasture fortunately but before leaving the arena, he said the following in 1998: "Make no mistake, tax cheaters cheat us all, and the IRS should enforce our laws to the letter." Then we learned he failed to pay more than $100,000 in back taxes for perks he received as one of Washington's most relentless influence-peddlers.
Remember Tim Geithner who wanted to be Treasury Secretary and run the IRS, but he had to take care of some back taxes before he could assume that role [without being a hypocrite?].
Then we have Charlie Rangel and Rev Sharpton, both tax and spend libs, wealthy Democrat 1%'ers, not their duty to pay taxes.
It's so often the liberal elite who 'get off' by telling others about their moral obligation, how they should delight in giving more of their money to the needy while the same time, these Democrat liberal elites accumulate and hoard as much money for themselves as they can.

"Our problem is not the Islamic radical, but the inherent radicalism of Islam. Islam is a radical religion. It radicalizes those who follow it. Every atrocity we associate with Islamic radicals is already in Islam. The Koran is not the solution to Islamic radicalism, it is the cause."
