Secretary of State John Kerry delivers an opening statement prior to his testimony before the House Foreign Affairs Committee on the State Department's budget.
Kerry said despite ISIS, Americans are living in a period of less daily threats against the U.S. His statement comes on the same day three men were arrested in New York City for allegedly conspiring to support ISIS. According to the criminal complaint, one of the defendants offered to kill President Obama if ordered to do so.
SECRETARY OF STATE JOHN KERRY: And frankly – and last thing, this is counterintuitive but it’s true: Our citizens, our world today is actually, despite ISIL, despite the visible killings that you see and how horrific they are, we are actually living in a period of less daily threat to Americans and to people in the world than normally— less deaths, less violent deaths today than through the last century. And so even the concept of state war has changed in many people’s minds, and we’re seeing now more asymmetrical kinds of struggles.
Yeah, come to think of it Lurch, your advice IS VERY counterintuitive. I guess it borders more on false advice sir. TM

"Our problem is not the Islamic radical, but the inherent radicalism of Islam. Islam is a radical religion. It radicalizes those who follow it. Every atrocity we associate with Islamic radicals is already in Islam. The Koran is not the solution to Islamic radicalism, it is the cause."
This definitely frost my cake. Not only is it a remarkably stupid statement, but it's grammatically incorrect.
less deaths, less violent deaths today than through the last century
That should read fewer deaths, fewer violent deaths. Less is used where the number is indeterminate, fewer when the number can be cited. Where did this pompous ass get his education and how can such a grammatically challenged buffoon become our SoS?
Allahu Akbar" is Arabic for "Nothing to see here"~~Mark Steyn explaining the reaction of Obama, Hollande, et. al., to Muslim terror attacks.
