IMHO if the election had turned out differently, this would not be happening.
Slovakia Becomes Latest Country to Move Embassy to Jerusalem July 5, 2018 Daniel Greenfield
Slovakia will open a cultural embassy in Jerusalem for now. But that appears to be a prelude to a larger move.
Zitat “Slovakia is on its way to relocating its embassy to Jerusalem,” Head of the Slovak National Council Andrej Danko told Israel’s President Reuven Rivlin on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, the visiting delegation of Slovak lawmakers announced the Eastern European country would open a cultural center in the Israeli capital.
The move, when it materializes, would mark a break from European Union policy on Jerusalem. Slovakia would join the Czech Republic and Bulgaria as the other European Union member states to expand their diplomatic presence in the city since US President Donald Trump recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
There is a groundswell in Eastern Europe and South America. Those are also the regions where Israeli diplomatic outreach has been at its most effective over the years.
Zitat In June, Bulgarian prime minister Boyko Borisov visited Israel and while visiting Jerusalem, told Benjamin Netanyahu that he appreciated Israel’s desire for the international community to recognize Jerusalem’s status as Israel’s capital, adding that he would seek to move his own country’s embassy to the “eternal capital of the Jerusalem”.
Slovakian Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini’s decision was reached after Speaker of the Israeli Knesset Yuli Edelstein called on Slovakia to follow their neighbors from Czech Republic in committing themselves to Jerusalem by opening an honorary consulate in the city.
The Czech Republic reopened an honorary consulate in Jerusalem in May, two years after it had been closed after the death of the previous honorary consul. Czech President Milos Zeman had previously repeatedly stated his intention of moving his the country’s embassy in Israel to Jerusalem and, like the Slovakians, also spoke of a multi-stage plan in order to do so.
These commitments have a tentative aspect to them. That's why it's so important that Trump and Pence made the move happen as speedily as it did.
The important thing is that the boycott of Jerusalem has been broken. It's now largely a fetish of certain Muslim and Western European countries trying to preserve the faltering "Palestinian" order.
