It was a short leap from declaring the killing of inconvenient children to be a “right” to coercively subsidizing it through ObamaCare. The leap to imposing it on a mandatory basis isn’t much longer.
Homosexual activist Dan Savage makes the jump with ease. On the Australian show Q&A, Adventures in Democracy, he appeared on a panel that was asked, “Which so-called dangerous idea do you each think would have the greatest potential to change the world for the better if it were implemented?”
Savage’s answer:
Zitat Population control. There's too many god---- people on the planet! And I don't know if that’s a – you know, I'm pro-choice. I believe that women should have the right to control their bodies. Sometimes in my darker moments I’m anti-choice.
I think abortion should be mandatory for about 30 years.
The Left's anti-humanism is never far beneath the surface. Some environmentalists are openly opposed to human reproduction. Liberals have called for parents to be fined and taxed. Having children is regarded as a sin against the planet.
Don’t think coercive abortion could happen in America? It already does. As Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life reports:
Zitat Forced abortion, or coerced abortion, is one of the abortion industry’s dirty little secrets. Even though Planned Parenthood and other abortionists deny it, post-abortive women confirm the grim truth that most abortions—nearly two out of three—involve pressure, coercion or even violence against pregnant women. …
A forced abortion, or coerced abortion, occurs when a woman undergoes an abortion against her own wishes. Coercion often involves the threat of physical harm, blackmail or other acts in order to force a pregnant girl or woman to have an abortion.
What Savage has in mind is coercion imposed by the State. This is already standard practice in communist China, where an estimated 13 million forced abortions are inflicted each year.
Our own president has praised China’s system of unrestrained statism as “vastly the superior” to the USA.
Andy Stern, formerly of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and the most frequent visitor to the White House in the early days of the Obama Administration, has explicitly called for the USA to reject economic freedom in favor of Chinese-style communism.
Obama’s Transportation Secretary Ray Lahood praises China’s authoritarian system as “more successful” than our own.
Thomas Friedman of The New York Times is highly influential among the liberal ruling class. He too has compared our political system unfavorably to that of communist China.
Unless our current political trajectory is reversed, tomorrow’s America will be communist China minus manufacturing.
Dan Savage is a conspicuously vile individual well-known for using obnoxiousness to generate publicity for the homosexual agenda. For example, after infiltrating Gary Bauer’s 2000 campaign and contracting the flu, he went around the office licking doorknobs in an attempt to make people sick. A still more appalling example is his public bullying of Christian high school kids.
It isn’t easy to take him seriously, particularly when he is deliberately looking to shock. But when they have the leverage, it would not be surprising if Savage’s fellow progressives make his wish for mandatory abortions a reality.
