The suit against the city, according to other sources, was brought by our very own Justice Dept., which was thus acting as legal counsel for the Muslims. The issue was not whether the mosque could be built, but where.
"A New Jersey town has agreed to pay $2.75 million to purchase land for a proposed mosque in order to settle a lawsuit that was filed by Muslims who were prohibited from opening a mosque in another area of the township.
According to the settlement between Bridgewater officials and the Al Falah Center, the mosque will be built between Routes 202-206 and 287 on a 15-acre strip of land, and the township’s insurance will also pay $5 million in damages and attorney’s costs. The total settlement will amount to $7.75 million dollars.
In 2011, the township planning board rejected a proposal for a former inn to be converted into a mosque, as it pointed to a newly-approved ordinance that only allowed houses of worship, along with schools and country clubs, to be built on major roadways because of traffic concerns and in order to “preserve the residential character of its various neighborhoods.” The township rejected the notion that it refused the proposal simply because it involved a mosque.
But those behind the Al Falah Center then filed a federal lawsuit against the town of Bridgewater in an effort to to force officials to permit the renovation of the building into a mosque and Islamic community center. The complaint asserted that the ordinance was discriminatory and violated both their First and Fourteenth Amendment rights under the United State Constitution, as well as the federal Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act.
Last fall, U.S. District Judge Michael Shipp, appointed to the bench by Barack Obama, barred the ordinance from being enforced and ordered the township to reconsider the application. He also ruled that he found “anti-Muslim prejudice within the community, including Internet postings and e-mail correspondence,” which Shipp believed may have contributed to the denial, and said that the township “rendered it nearly impossible for Al Falah and its individual members to adhere to the tenets of their religion.”
OTOH, there is this plea for tolerance arising from a similar situation in Toronto.
"Biggs McDonald, NHL Hall of Fame broadcaster speaking in Ontario , says, "I am truly perplexed that so many of my friends are against another mosque being built in Toronto . I think it should be the goal of every Canadian to be tolerant regardless of their religious beliefs. Thus the mosque should be allowed, in an effort to promote tolerance.”
“That is why I also propose that two nightclubs be opened next door to the mosque; thereby promoting tolerance from within the mosque. We could call one of the clubs, which would be gay, 'The Turban Cowboy', and the other, a topless bar, would be called 'You Mecca Me Hot'." “Next door should be a butcher shop that specializes in pork, and adjacent to that an open-pit barbecue pork restaurant, called 'Iraq of Ribs'."
“Across the street there could be a lingerie store called 'Victoria Keeps Nothing Secret', with sexy mannequins in the window modeling the goods.” “Next door to the lingerie shop there would be room for an adult sex toy shop, 'Koranal Knowledge', its name in flashing neon lights, and on the other side a liquor store called 'Morehammered'."
“All of this would encourage Muslims to demonstrate the tolerance they demand of us.” Yes we should promote tolerance, and you can do your part by passing this on. And if you are not laughing or smiling at this point... It is either past your bedtime, or it's midnight at the oasis and time to put your camel to bed!
Did this Justice Department remember that these Muslims don't give women equality and they openly discriminate against gays?

Obama DOJ forces city to pay Muslims $7.75 million Exclusive: Pamela Geller asks why Islamists are being given special rights Published: 12/07/2014 at 4:16 PM New shocking scandal. Unbelievable. Nobody is reporting this yet. Why?
A proposed mega-mosque in the pretty little town of Bridgewater, New Jersey, was rejected by the town council last year, “citing an ordinance that limited houses of worship to major roads.” Reasonable enough. Municipal officials argued that the purpose of the ordinance was to “preserve the residential character of its various neighborhoods.”
But Islamic supremacists and Muslim Brotherhood organizations like CAIR called upon their lapdogs at the Department of Justice, who sued Bridgewater. The DoJ has become the de facto legal arm of terror-tied Muslim Brotherhood groups in this country. What small town can go up against the U.S. government’s vast resources and endless taxpayer-funded muscle?
It speaks volumes about the three pillars (more like clubs) of the Islamization of the West – “interfaith dialogue,” “mutual respect” and “mutual understanding” – that they are absent when it comes to Muslim demands. Kuffar and infidels get no such mutual respect, mutual understanding and dialogue when it comes to mega-mosques and free speech. Where is reciprocity? Reciprocity with non-Muslims is forbidden under Islamic law (Shariah).
This New Jersey town was forced to pay Muslims $7.75 million to keep them from building a mega-mosque there.
