ZitatThe United States on Friday announced it approved precision military strikes on Syria after alleging that the Assad regime used chemical weapons in a recent attack in the country.
The size of the strike was twice the size of the U.S. assault last year. Fox News confirmed that warships and U.S. Air Force B-1 bombers were used in Friday's bombing campaign.
The B-1 bombers flew out of Qatar and have the ability to fire from 600 miles away. U.S. guided-missile destroyers can launch Tomahawk cruise missiles with a maximum range of 1,500 miles.
President Trump called the assault "a combined operation with the armed forces of France and the United Kingdom."
Defense Secretary James Mattis said no follow-up attacks are planned. He said the Pentagon was careful to ensure the safety of Russian troops and Syrian civilians in the area. There were three targets in the strikes as opposed to the single airbase in last year's assault.
"Clearly the Assad regime did not get the message last year," Mattis said. "This time our allies and we have struck harder."
"Suspected", "alleging"? What stupendous evidence to get us further involved in another Mideast quagmire. Assad had no reason to use chemical warfare, but several compelling reasons not to, as evidenced by this raid. I do not like this, and in the absence of definitive proof of who employed those chemicals strongly disapprove of this action.
Well, look at the bright side. At least McClown will be happy. And I'm sure we'll get bi-partisanship. (nothing unites the branches of the uni-party like war and bombings)
I hope Trump has been given access to accurate information, and this is a one time message as Reagan gave to Quaddafi.
It's so difficult to form a judgement about the supposed chemical attack. I've read it happened; it didn't happen. Assad did it; jihadists did it; the UK did it; Russia did it. It was done by others to make Assad look bad. It was done by Assad to punish enemies. It was done to suck Trump into the never ending war in the Middle East to benefit the military industrial complex.
All of these theories have a measure of believability. Mean while the MSM is focused on lauding Comey's book and spreading third hand gossip about a Trump love child.

Zitat(TIM) — Former Congressman Ron Paul has strongly argued following the alleged chemical gas attack blamed on the Syrian government that it makes no logical sense for Assad to order a gas attack, and has called the accusations a telltale sign of a false flag attack meant to provide justification for the U.S. military to maintain a presence in Syria.
“An incident will occur and somebody will get blamed and it’s usually a false flag,” said Paul.
“Right now, recently, it’s all been in Syria, ‘Assad did it! Assad did it!’” explained the former congressman. “No proof at all.”
“The way the people that perpetuate these false flags [sic] say that Assad is gassing his own people, at the same time, he’s winning the war and the people are flocking back in to go to the territories that he has returned to the government of Syria,” explained Paul. “But, nevertheless, he’s out there gassing his own people, which makes no sense whatsoever and fewer and fewer people are believing this.”
