After reading the entire article I pretty sure the problem was that the team was not on prayer mats and facing toward Mecca.
"An Arizona high school football coach was kicked off his team and out of his school for allegedly refusing to tell members on his team to stop praying together before and after games.
Tucson Unified School District officials reportedly gave Gary Weiss the ultimatum to either order his players to stop praying or turn in his playbook and lose his job. Weiss said he chose to respect his players’ constitutional rights of free speech and free will by turning in his keys and leaving the team...
Weiss insists that he never facilitated or promoted his players’ engagement in prayer before or after their football games, emphasizing that the activity was always student-led and student-initiated."
Despite his claims of neutrality, "As a result of these accusations, it is reported that Weiss is no longer allowed to step foot on school property."
An FYI for those interested, Catalina Foothills High School has a FB page where the public is commenting on this latest piece of anti-Christian, anti-Constitution nonsense.
The students and the coach have a great civil rights lawsuit here. They can stop the Govt employees from organizing a prayer but there is an inviolate right to exercise the freedom of expression of religion anywhere for those kids without government prohibiting it. The kids should sue the Admins involved personally for punitive damages for violating their civil rights, make them feel pain.
The Coach may have a good discrimination case too.
